ABOUT

My name is Charmaine Vella-fox and this is my first time blogging. I thought I'd start up a site that incorporates food and literature together. Maybe being an English teacher has something to do with it!

The aim of this site is to explore food and literature. Hopefully by the end of this I will have perfected my cooking skills!

Particularly, I am an avid food critic and am always looking for different tastes and places to go to on the Gold Coast. Recently, I realised there was a lack of reviews on restaurants in the area, and a lack of really quirky gourmet restaurants with quality produce, available in abundance in Sydney and Melbourne. This is a food journey to explore the innards of the Gold Coast and find some "hidden gems" to compile a list for others. Hopefully, the dreaded "what should we eat, where should we go?" will be eliminated.

And in the case of being 'cost effective and saving, I am attempting to re-create my own gourmet meals by following, testing, re-producing and sampling Masterchef ideas.

Here's my cute little Maltese/Mini- fox who is aptly named Mercutio and thus deserves a run on this site! He loves MasterChef gourmet food too, opposed to his dog food!

  1. If you crave a late night pizza, Ned Kelley's pizza on Kennedy Drive just past the bridge. They do amazing pizza and it is cheap the pizza is filling and lo fat so it won't wreck your diet.
